Smartphone Printing Apps for Media Professionals

Monday, January 9th, 2012

Most jobs within the field of media management will keep you on your toes. Whether it’s late breaking news, last-minute artwork changes, or adding lines to advertising copy – you need to be available at all times. Nowadays, media professionals are equipped with smartphones which give them the ability to work anywhere at any time.

However, a common problem they are faced with is the inability to connect their phone with a printer, making it difficult to obtain prints from their iPhone, Blackberry or Android. In order to accomplish this, they would have to transfer the data to a computer or connect their phone to the printer with a hard wire.

This problem can now be resolved with the help of iPhone, Blackberry and Android printing apps. These apps work on a Cloud-based system, which enables users to print from these devices without drivers or wires. Just send the document or image for printing and a reply code will be sent, which you will enter to release the documents.

Now you can connect directly with an office printer, or through any one of the 8,000 participating printers. Using this reliable application, media professionals can now obtain prints from Blackberry, iPhone and Android phones from nearly any location across the globe.

Quick and Easy Removal of Songs on Your iPod

Erasing songs from your iPod is just as easy as adding songs to your iPod. All you’ll need is your iPod, your USB connector or iPod dock connected to your computer, and the iTunes program. To save time and get you erasing songs as soon as possible, I’ll assume that you have iTunes installed and have already used the software and iPod a few times already.

Open up iTunes and connect your iPod to your computer. In a few seconds the computer and iTunes should recognize the iPod and a little icon will show up in the iTunes menu. The menu is on the left hand side of the iTunes program and you should see a little iPod icon (if you have named your iPod that name will show up next to the icon). Click on this and you’ll now be browsing whatever files are on your iPod.

Under the iPod icon and iPod name in the same left menu you should see a few options depending on your iPod menu. The first one should be ‘Music’. If there are no sub menus under your iPod icon, click the small arrow to the right of the iPod icon and name to drop down the menu and see the sub menus.

Click on the music sub menu under the iPod and you’ll see your entire song collection that is currently on the iPod listed in the main screen of iTunes, to the right of the menu you’ve been using. From there you can select multiple songs or one at a time. Once selected you can right click or hit delete and iTunes will prompt you to confirm that you want to delete this file. Some versions of iTunes will give you the option to remove the file simply from the iPod or from your iTunes library as well. If you still want the song, but just not on your iPod, don’t select the option that would remove it from the library as well.

With the increasing popularity of the iPod, it only stands to reason that the accessories market is growing right along with it. Often referred to as the iPod ecosystem, the large number of available iPod accessories are designed to work directly with the iPod and are manufactured by a variety of different companies. Well known industry music leaders Bose and Kennsington are among the companies to create iPod speakers, which use the iPod’s third pin dock connector. Various other companies create add-ons that permit the iPod to record sound, recharge, experience playback music on the radio and create wireless capability for the iPod to be operated with the use of a remote control.

In addition to technological iPod accessories, there are also a number of protective carrying cases designed to tote the iPod safely. While maintaining their equipment’s safety, iPod users are also making a fashion statement with their trendy carrying cases.

Industry experts are amazed at just how far iPod accessories have come. For instance, an iPod control is now available on selected jacket sleeves or backpack straps made available by an apparel company specializing in the snowboarding industry. The theory behind this placement is that it will allow individuals with additional convenience for operating their iPod outdoors and on the go. Now that’s iPod accessories at their best.  You can apply for fast cash in a few minutes and get approved right away.

There are more common iPod accessories, including a headphone connector that allows for private listening of your favorite tunes. An iPod Hi-Fi speaker is also available for use in an electrical outlet or by battery operation.

The launch of a portable media player by Apple, called iPod, in the year 2001 has taken the world by a storm and has drastically changed the definition of listening to music. Having the ability to play an array of audio formats such as MP3, AAC/M4A, Protected AAC, AIFF, WAV, Audible Audio Book, and the like, the iPod has been re-inventing itself and getting better with each phase. While the first generation iPods simply had a storage capacity of 5GB and a mechanical scroll wheel, the second generation iPod had a memory of 10GB and a touch sensitive wheel. Navigation through touch interface and slimmer casing defined the third generation of iPods, while the generation that followed had a click wheel making it possible to store as well as view pictures through an iPod. The iPod soon became video-enabled and the interface became better with each passing day. While purchasing an iPod, the primary factors that one should keep in mind are the storage capacity that you require, price, color as well as the size.
This article provides several versions of iPods since its inception, ranging from the ever popular iPod Classic and iPod Nano to the iPod Shuffle and iPod Touch, with suitable variations which suit every budget.

Mp3

If it was two years before, it would have cost you atleast 2000 rupees to buy an mp3 player. That too there is only one type of mp3 player that connects to computer through USB and has the shape of hemi-cylinder. Now things have changed dramatically. There are many different models of mp3 players ranging in price from inexpensive to high priced ones. The cheapest mp3 players comes at 990 rupees in a store (SENSEI model) and at less than 500 rupees if bought on ebay. The expensive ones are the ones with more GBs (4GB, 8GB, 32GB, 64GB etc.) and the top brand products like Apple iPod Nano, Apple iPod Shuffle.

Apple has its lowest cost variety too. That is the Apple iPod Shuffle of 1GB capacity costing only 2300 rupees. Doubling the price will get you 4GB player from iPod. On the other hand iPod Nanos can cost as much as 25000 rupees for the 64GB capacity. Apple has a range of capacities in Nano to suit costs. The minimum it comes for Rs. 9000 at 8GB. IPod Nanos also have video apart from mp3 playing ability. Apple players are high in price (also in India) as the quality and the capacity of the players they offer is wide ranging.

The other brands in this area too offer quality audio players. But the capacities are limited to 8GB. For example, Transcent 2GB player costs 1999 rupees while 4GB costs 2499 rupees. Their low price does not imply low quality. But compared to iPod their software is limited. They play wma or mp3 only. In Mp4 (mp3+video) players too the cheaper brands like YES (2900), Transcend (3400) etc. play only avi and flv formats. And that too limited in these formats. However they play youtube video formats. For the consumer looking for cost effective yet good solution, these brands are good. But for those who want more convenience without the need to convert the formats and looking for extensive use the Apple players are suitable. Other than that there are also good quality players from Sony and Philips (Go Gear).
