smart phone

If you are in the market for a prepaid cell phone, then you might have noticed the phones from Straight Talk Wireless, one of the most popular prepaid phone providers available today.  Straight Talk recently released two new smart phones (yes smart phones on a prepaid plan) and they have gotten pretty good acclaim.  Well, I would say that the Nokia E71 has been a little better received than the Nokia 6790, the second phone that this company released recently.

Nokia E71 for Straight Talk is a legitimate smart phone and will allow you check your email (from multiple accounts if you have them), browse the web, of course makes calls and send text messages, and download apps from the Nokia Ovi app store (some are free and some cost money).  In addition you can use the voice guided navigation feature.  And all of this is included in the Straight Talk Unlimited prepaid plan for per month.

You get unlimited talk, text, web, 411, and navigation.  It’s one of the best priced phone plans out there and you get to use the Blackberry-like Nokia E71.  It has a nice look, a good screen, and a full qwerty keyboard that makes web browsing and sending text messages super easy and fun.

Have a look at the Nokia E71 from Straight Talk if you’re looking for a high end cell phone and want to cut out some of the money you pay on your contract plan.  By the way, prepaid means you don’t have to sign a contract.  I like that.

**About Compaq**

The company named Compaq does not exist anymore since 2002, but the brand name does. The original company name is “Compaq Computer Cooperation”. The company originally started as a computer manufacturer, located in the USA. But since 2002 the company was taken over by another famous computer company named Hewlett Packard (which you probably know from its LaserJet/inkjet printers and it computers.
Compaq was founded in 1982 by Ron Canio, Bill Murto and Jim Harris. The name of the company means “compatibility and quality”. In 1983 Compaq launched the first portable computer, and this computer broke all selling records and became a major hit. During the nineties the company was the first one selling computers for less than 1000 dollars. Because of their lower prices a price-war started between Compaq and the other computer companies, IBM and Packard Bell.
Nowadays Compaq as a brand is still known for it reasonable priced products and their good quality. Compaq/Hewlett Packard also sell monitors, mini laptops and computer accessories.

**Compaq Presario CQ61 310 SA**

We bought this laptop through a Dutch online shop named Modern. Because we were looking for a nicely styled but affordable laptop we soon bumped into this Compaq CQ61. We paid 410 Euros for this laptop and I have to say that was a reasonable price for all this laptop has to offer. In Pounds you’ll pay around 369 Pounds. On the International Compaq website there is a higher price displayed but I guess some looking around and comparing can save you a lot of money! Because I have bad vision I needed a big screen, and this laptop has a 15.6 inch screen which is big and perfect for me!

Camera

This Digital Camera is a Steal, with 14MP, and a 30X Zoom

For the past month I have been following any and all news that were to hit the Internet regarding the Olympus sp-800uz digital camera. The reason being was due to the fact that I had a birthday coming up, and the 30X zoom that this 14MP camera boasted seemed like such a neat feature. I searched high and low for standard reviews by consumers, and sadly all I found were professional reviews, with too much technical information that just made my head wobble. I had to go into it not knowing much, but knowing enough to make my decision. Yes, the Olympus sp-800uz was on my wish list, and finally I got the camera in my hands.

Day 1

First Impressions: Looking at the photographs on the net of the camera, it does look really neat, a small body, with a huge lens attached to the front. I worried that the camera would be bulky, or hard to handle, but after feeling it in my hands for the first time I must say, the little tyke is made with a nice solid feel, and does not at all feel wobbly, or too heavy at the front where the giant lens sits. While waiting around for the cameras battery to fully charge up I went poking around in the box hoping to find an instruction manual on how to use all of the features and different settings. Unfortunately there is none. You can find a manual online, but no one wants to do that when they are giddy with anticipation. Instead I poked around the camera on my own, and figured it out. The menus are very user friendly on the camera. Once the camera juiced up on battery power, Immediately I wanted to test out the cameras 30X Zoom, so I took the camera outside, and began to zoom in on a tree branch across the street from me.

A Christmas gift idea: Flip Video MinoHD Camcorder Review

Camcorder

A gift in need is a gift indeed. For a long time, I wish I could have a camcorder to shoot sweet moments in my life such as holiday gatherings, birthday parties and school games, so I can share them with my friends and relatives later. Since I want to take the camcorder everywhere I go, I prefer one with a slim design. I am not a professional photographer and I don’t intend to make movies of Hollywood quality, so I do not need advanced features for shooting. What I need is a basic camcorder which shoots images of excellent quality.

The Flip Video MinoHD Camcorder fits my needs perfectly. It has a super-sleek design and weighs only around 3 ounces. I can put it into my jeans pocket and take it wherever I go, which means I will never miss shooting any exciting moment. What amazed me, at the beginning, is that this tiny camcorder can make extremely high-quality HD 720p video. It is even good enough to be viewed on HDTV. The Flip Video MinoHD Camcorder has easy controls. Its operation involves only 3 buttons: the big red button for recording, the +/- button for zooming and the trash can button for deleting. Uploading videos from Mino HD Camcorder onto the computer is also as easy as a snap. By using the flip-out USB arm, I can connect the camcorder to the computer like a USB thumb drive. I can drag the files to the computer, upload to Youtube and share my movies with my friends in no time. All in all, the Flip Video MinoHD Camcorder is a very nice piece of modern technology.

Life is composed of lots of interesting moments. I hope in the coming new year I will use MinoHD Camcorder to document more of those moments.

The advancement of technology is emerging with brilliant gadgets and there is a continuous competition among the vendors of mobile phone to outsmart each other by introducing technologically advanced smart phones featured with every potential application. The top 5 smart phones have amazing features making it hard to pick the best, however the following brief review might help in searching for the device that will suit you best.

Apple iPhone – It is a 3GS iPhone having common features of a cell phone such as multimedia and messaging. It is featured with a long life battery, fine multimedia and it runs on a 600MHz CPU with 256MB RAM. It also has a 3-megapixel camera, adding video recording and auto focus. The bottom line is that iPhone 3GS has not shown any significant improvements over the basic generation model iPhone 3G, yet the latest handset of Apple might be considered a compelling upgrade. The iPhone 3GS is appreciable mostly for its speed and extended battery, but the call quality as well as 3G reception could well have some improvements. For new customers it is priced at U$ 599 for the iPhone 16GB, and U$ 699 for the 32GB model. For those who are eligible for an upgrade, the device may be found for a lower price.

Nokia E71x – It is reasonably priced and bestows a list of features such as Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, Bluetooth and a camera having 3.2 megapixel, besides supporting various services such as video share, AT&T navigator GPS, streaming video from cell video service and AT&T mobile music. This smart phone is sleek and is affordably priced, and has an incredible value for consumers and business users desiring for robust messaging. It can be up to 500 hours (20.8 days) of standby time and up to 5 hours of talk time. Initially, the GPS took some time to locate the location and the keyboard layout seemed to be also a little cramped. It is priced at U$ 400.
